GET INVOLVED

Get involved

Fundraising, volunteering and spreading the word. Everything we give away was raised by someone.

Fundraising ideas

You may want to, but you don’t have to run a marathon. These are fundraisers already held, with a rough sense of what they raised.

Rounders fun day

Raised £1200

An afternoon of friendly competition and fun, all in the name of helping others.

A sponsored walk

Previous walks have raised £2000 and £6000

Arran’s coastal path, your local park, Kilimanjaro or the Kiltwalk. Easy to share on JustGiving.

A school bakesale

Typically raises £200-£400

A classic, and one of the best. A load of hungry kids, cakes and a donation bucket.

A workplace collection

Typically raises £100-£200

Christmas collections, dress down days, a raffle, or asking if your employer will match what colleagues raise.

80s Night

Our first one raised £4000

Tina’s favourite. Shiskine village hall, excellent outfits, amazing tunes and a great crowd.

Something of your own

Bake, knit, shave, swim, sing. If you have an idea, tell us and we will help you make it work.

Volunteer with us

Real roles with a realistic time commitment. We would rather tell you exactly what is involved than ask you vaguely to help out.

Help at an event

A couple of hours, occasionally

Serving drinks, collecting donations, setting up or cleaning up, with us on Arran or wherever you are.

Spread the word to clinics

An hour or two, once

Carers usually find us far too late. If you work in a memory clinic, GP surgery or carers centre, help us reach them at diagnosis.

Social media

Up to two hours a month

Help us keep our Facebook and Instagram going with a couple of posts a month. Useful if you are comfortable writing warmly about difficult things.

Become a trustee

A few hours a month, plus meetings

We are always interested in people with lived experience of caring, or with finance, fundraising or safeguarding experience.

Tell us what you would like to do

Send us a few lines and a trustee will get back to you. There is no wrong answer and no commitment in asking.

Please tell us which of these you have in mind:

  • Fundraise for the trust
  • Volunteer at an event
  • Help us reach carers
  • Help with social media
  • Talk about becoming a trustee
  • Something else

We will only use your details to reply to you. We never share them with anyone else. See our privacy policy.

Fundraising pack

A downloadable pack with our logo, a sponsor form, poster templates and the key facts about FTD to help you explain who you are raising money for.

Coming soon — planned for shortly after launch.

Upcoming events

We will list fundraising events here as they are confirmed. If you are organising something, tell us and we will add it.

Every grant starts with a donation

We are a small, volunteer-run trust. A gift of any size goes directly to a family caring for someone with early onset FTD at home.
