TINA’S TRUST

You are not
doing this alone

We give grants to people caring for someone with early onset frontotemporal dementia at home, anywhere in the UK.

Apply for a grant

If you are caring at home for someone with early onset FTD, tell us what would help. There is no long form and no jargon.

Talk to a person

Not sure whether we can help, or would rather just ask? Email us and a trustee will reply. We are a small team and we read everything.

Caring for someone with early onset FTD is relentless, and it is often invisible

Frontotemporal dementia usually arrives between the ages of 45 and 65. It changes personality, behaviour and language long before it touches memory. The people caring for it are often still working, still raising children, still paying a mortgage.

Tina’s Trust was created in memory of Tina. We give practical grants to the person doing the caring, because that is the help we wished someone had offered us. We are based on the Isle of Arran and we give grants across the whole of the UK.

Why we exist

Created in Tina’s memory, for the people doing the caring

Tina’s Trust is small, family-run and deliberately practical. We do not fund research or run services. We give money to the person caring at home, quickly and without a mountain of paperwork.

  • We are quick. Most decisions are made within a fortnight, because a grant that arrives three months late is not much use.
  • We trust you. You know what would help more than we do. We do not ask for receipts for everything or tell you what your family needs.
  • We are specific. We fund one thing at a time, and we are honest about what we cannot do.

More about the trust

Stories from families

“Four afternoons a month, and I could breathe again”

A grant paid for a sitting service one afternoon a week so Jan could leave the house without worrying.

“We could get to the specialist appointment”

Three hundred miles each way to a rare demntia clinic. The grant covered fuel and one nights accommodation.
